Irish Channel

The Irish Channel is my favorite neighborhood in New Orleans and honestly where I hope to live someday. My aunt owned a property on Harmony Street before I was around, and when she and her friends lived there, that's when they claimed their Mardi Gras spot on that block. She sold the house, but we still stand there every single year. That history is part of why this neighborhood means what it does to me.

It's a neighborhood that's fully alive: brightly painted shotguns and Creole cottages, Miel Brewery, Turkey and the Wolf, Molly's Rise and Shine, Funky Monkey vintage, Parasol's, Pete's, and all of it walkable. You're close to Magazine Street on one side and St. Charles on the other, which gives you the best of Uptown without being in the thick of it.

I manage a property on Jackson Avenue right at the edge of the Channel, and I make a point of staying in every unit I manage. My favorite thing is walking from that property to Turkey and the Wolf on a slow morning. That kind of morning is available to you here every day.

For buyers who want color, character, and a neighborhood with real soul, or investors looking for a double with strong rental demand, the Irish Channel deserves a serious look.
